  • Block chain for Traceability Many exhibitors demonstrated the use of block chain technology to provide end-to-end traceability from catch to consumer, enhancing food safety and building consumer trust.
  • Eco-friendly Aquaculture Innovative models like the “land-sea relay” recirculating aquaculture system were show cased, combining land-based hatcheries with deep-sea cage farming to minimize coastal pollution.

4. Market Insights and Deals

The event served as a pulse check for the global seafood market, revealing significant growth areas and major transactions.

  • Chinese Market Growth: China has become the third-largest export market for Norwegian seafood. It is also on track to become the fifth-largest global consumer market for salmon.
